Molex is seeking a strategic, results-driven Site Operations Director for our Aerospace and Defense Division (ADS) at our Georgetown (Austin), Texas site. The Site Operations Director responsibilities include overseeing our manufacturing operations and ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and quality across the production lifecycle at the site.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations leadership, lean manufacturing, and cross-functional team management.
What You Will Do
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company goals to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Production Oversight: Lead and manage all manufacturing functions, including production planning, inventory control, scheduling, quality assurance, and logistics.
- Team Management: Direct and support department managers and supervisors. Build high-performing teams through effective leadership, Principle Based Management, mentoring, and performance management.
- Process Improvement: Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement (Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S) to optimize processes and eliminate waste.
- Cost Control: Develop and manage operational plans/budget or financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain a culture of safety across all manufacturing operations.
- Technology & Automation: Oversee the implementation and integration of new manufacturing technologies and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, supply chain, quality, and executive leadership to align operations with broader business objectives.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related field
- Demonstrated leadership in operational excellence and successful implementation of lean/continuous improvement initiatives
- Expert in key principles and best practices in LEAN manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, supply chain logistics, and safety regulations.
