Supervisor, Manufacturing Equipment Engineering

Position Summary

This position supports CelLink’s manufacturing scalability and operational performance by supervising equipment engineering activities related to the design, development, improvement, installation, and support of manufacturing equipment and tooling. The role is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of equipment engineering work, supporting equipment reliability and performance, and helping ensure equipment solutions are practical, safe, and aligned with production needs.

This role requires strong mechanical and equipment engineering capability, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to coordinate work across Operations, Quality, Process Engineering, Automation, and Maintenance teams. The Supervisor, Equipment Engineering, is expected to be closely involved with equipment build, troubleshooting, implementation, and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of the Equipment Engineering team, including work assignment, prioritization, and follow-up
  • Support the design, development, improvement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixturing for production and NPI
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance for equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve reliability and performance
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts with Operations, Process Engineering, Quality, Automation, and Maintenance to support production goals and resolve equipment issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment engineering, mechanical design, or equipment support in a production environment
  • Prior experience leading projects, coordinating team activities, or providing day-to-day direction to technical employees
  • Strong experience with custom equipment, tooling, fixturing, or manufacturing machinery
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and engineering drawing standards
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues and driving practical corrective actions
  • Experience with machine safety concepts and applicable OSHA, ISO, and/or NFPA requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems, tolerance analysis, and equipment design fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with automation integration including PLCs, robotics, motion systems, or vision systems
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing such as automotive, electronics, or similar industries
  • Experience working with vendors on equipment fabrication, installation, and startup
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar document control systems
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Strong equipment and mechanical engineering knowledge with practical, hands-on application
  • Effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability
  • Ability to prioritize work and coordinate team efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to coach and support less experienced engineers or technicians
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through
  • Ability to translate engineering needs into practical production support
