Job Overview:

As a Quality Engineer(s), you will be responsible in designing, integrating, and continuously improving manufacturing systems and related processes for high-reliability components in electric vehicle applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Apply product development cycle and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) disciplines to meet product deadlines and ensure launch readiness. Support industry best practices to ensure design quality meets performance, safety, and customer specifications. Maintain and control documentation based on customer, regulatory, and system-level requirements. Interpret technical requirements and specifications from OEM and Tier customers to develop robust control plans, inspection standards, and acceptance criteria. Lead and facilitate Design for Manufacturability (DfM) and Design for Quality (DfQ) reviews, as well as Process and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA/DFMEA). Create and maintain documents required for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. Support production line operator training, certification, and development of standardized work instructions. Conduct process and system audits to ensure product traceability and compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Prepare and maintain documentation to comply with ISO9001, ISO14001, and IATF16949 standards. Provide technical quality support to customers, including resolution of product concerns and communication of corrective actions. Manage supplier quality activities, including audits, incoming inspection, and supplier corrective actions. Travel required to San Carlos, CA headquarters and domestic customer locations 3-4 times/year.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Experience/Education:

· Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, Electronics Engineering, or a related field

· Two years of work experience as a Quality Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Quality Engineer Intern, or a related occupation.

Specific Skills: Background, education, or experience must include:

1. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt methodologies and tools;

2. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification;

3. SQL and Excel-based Dashboarding using MS Access, Tableau, and Power BI for Quality Metrics;

4. APQP and PPAP Documentation for New Product Introductions;

5. Root Cause Analysis using 8D and DMAIC methodologies;

6. PFMEA and Control Plan Development; and

7. Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Gage R&R using Minitab and JMP.
