Responsible for greeting all Art Center guests and providing comprehensive information on the arts in Georgetown, Art Center exhibits, Art Center art school, and Art Center gift shop to assure a quality experience and to encourage repeat visitation. Evening and weekend work is required.Applicants should submit a resume.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greets all visitors and provide comprehensive information to assure a quality experience in Georgetown and at the Art Center.
Assists with incoming calls as needed, recording requests for information and forwarding to appropriate person.
Assists with the processing and display of incoming brochures.
Handles retail sale items in the gift shop portion of the Art Center.
Acquires knowledge regarding Georgetown’s history, Georgetown’s arts and culture, the Downtown Georgetown Cultural District, and is familiar with all collateral material, merchandise, artwork exhibited, and art school information available at the Art Center.
Assists in maintaining Art Center's general phone line.
Assists with special events and activities.
Assists with social media posts for the Art Center, the art school, and Georgetown Arts and Culture Program.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training, and Experience Guidelines
High School graduate or equivalent. Two (2) years of customer service, retail, marketing, fine arts, arts administration, or graphic design preferred. OR Any combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Cash handling skills are required.
Knowledge of:
Customer service practices and procedures.
Money handling practices and procedures.
City policies and procedures.
Skill in:
Sales
Effective communication, both oral and in writing.
Using computers, various software programs, and social media.
Reading and understanding technical instruction manuals for software and other equipment.
Performing mathematical calculations to make change and balance accounts.
Solving problems that arise during special events and on a daily basis at the Art Center.
Interacting with a variety of individuals by phone and in person.
Creating a welcoming environment.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, handling, fine dexterity, reaching, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying.
Hiring Range: $15.11 - $18.93, hourly.
Schedule: 19 hours weekly, 3 to 4 hours/day Wednesday-Sunday
