AMI Analyst – Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Headend System and Meter Data Management (MDM) Administrator.Under general supervision of the Senior AMI Analyst, the AMI Analyst participates in the planning, management and administration of AMI Headend Software and MDM. Ensure the data from all AMI head-end systems and MDM(s) is ready for Utility Billing and other downline system consumption. Maintains the read performance of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems, ensuring the integrity, reliability, accuracy, and availability of meter data are always maintained. Troubleshoot issues to provide for optimum system performance. Collaborate with outside vendors and data users across the Utility to ensure utility billing accuracy. Participates in the transformation of business needs into technical requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Monitor and maintain optimum AMI system performance based on:
Network performance, endpoint data, trends, network mapping, and identification of other potential AMI network bottlenecks.
AMI head-end system Meter health alarms, warnings, and reports, and cross reference with Outage Management and Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) activity. Compose database/spreadsheets and track the progress of metrology alarm statuses.
WAN communication reports for orphans and non-communicative meters, as well as non-communicative network devices.
Create the necessary field activities in CC&B or other assignment recommendations based on alarms, warnings, and report analysis for Metering, and Power Quality.
Liaise with OT, IT Network team, AMI vendor support, and various internal teams to implement on-going improvements to the AMI network. Actively participate in weekly vendor support calls relative to on-going issues and opportunities for improvement within the AMI network.
Tracks and utilizes network performance data and metrics to make continuous improvement recommendations, create field activities and assignments for various Field Technicians, and liaise with internal and external vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
Create and maintain multiple network reports, metrics and dashboards. Facilitate on-going operational communications used by various audiences, including AMI Metering, Customer Care, and Engineering Team members. Provide actionable information and describe the current state of AMI Network performance.
Assist with review and implementation of various automation, integration and business process improvement opportunities related to AMI head-end systems, Meter Data Management systems, AMI endpoint maintenance, and configuration templates.
Assist the AMI Supervisor with the coordination of various hardware, software, and firmware deployments related to the AMI network and AMI endpoints.
Coordinate with IT and OT personnel to ensure AMI integrations with Meter Data Management, Outage Management and Customer Care Billing (CC&B) are fully functional.
Assist in the performance of studies and regression testing to determine the applicability and adaptation of network hardware, software, and firmware products or releases.
Maintain site information in AMI head-end system and/or CIS. Assist Billing department in the reconciliation of meter inventory between CIS, physical inventory, and AMI head-end systems.
Work with OT and IT Network personnel to ensure fiber and network availability.
Work with internal and external customers associated with planned and unplanned AMI system disruptions to minimize impacts to operational areas and customer-facing products/services. *
Work with Customer Care to ensure billing data transfers from AMI head-end and Meter Data Management System to ensure accurate and timely billing.
Represent Georgetown Utility interests when attending software vendor conferences, user forums, and other events that relate to AMI software and operational technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience
Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Engineering, Business/ Information Systems, Public administration, Math, Computer Science or related field. Or a combination of Seven (7) years of experience in Advanced Metering infrastructure systems, electric utility or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with AMI and metering applications.
Utility billing experience
Alarms, warnings, and data associated with AMI devices, networks and instrumentation.
Meter configurations (functional programming, firmware, and CIS setup)
Headend configurations (AMI hardware/software/firmware release notes)
Experience managing projects from planning to completion under limited guidance
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic Utility Service(s), system construction and design.
Data network infrastructure
Billing practices and the principles of revenue collection
Applicable software and emerging trends in automated metering infrastructure
Geographic Information System (GIS)
Methods and techniques of user relations and data gathering
Federal, state and local regulations applicable to utility projects
Principles of supervision, training and evaluation
Project management and scheduling
City policies and procedures (Personnel, Safety and Purchasing)
National Codes relevant to Utility standards
High school-level math (algebra, geometry, and trigonometry), physics, etc., relevant to electric utility distribution design
Budget preparation and oversight

Reading blueprints, specifications, warning label, etc.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license required. Out-of-state license holders must have a valid license and provide a three (3) year driving history.

Hiring Range: $42.09 - $52.72, hourly.
