The City of Georgetown is seeking an intern to support the Finance and Treasury functions. The intern will work closely with Finance Administration, Budget, Treasury, and City Management.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Assist the Treasury team with the City’s bond process, including debt forecasting, debt issuance, bond rating book, and financial metrics.
Assist with the development and analysis of the operating and capital budget process.
Coordinate with departments on the annual bond rating book
Set-up and assist departments with budget development,
Assist the Budget team with Revenue and expense forecasting, new program requests, and internal service allocations
Participate in job shadowing activities with staff in Finance Administration
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training, and Experience Guidelines
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or have graduated within the past six (6) months.
Minimum, applicants must have completed coursework to be classified as a junior.
Ideal candidate is either currently enrolled in a Master of Public Administration program or has completed a MPA program within the past six (6) months at an accredited university.

Applicant must be able to work 15-25 hours per week
The internship will total 240-320 hours over a 12-16 week period, depending on availability and program funding

Knowledge of:
Must possess excellent customer service skills, strong oral and written communications, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
Skills in:
Knowledge of trend forecasting, regression, and statistics is highly desirable
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license required. Out-of-state license holders must have a valid license and provide a three-year driving history.

EMPLOYMENT TESTING:
Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment drug testing, criminal background investigation and driving record check.
Desired Start Date: November 3, 2025 (flexible)
Expected End Date: March 31, 2026 (flexible)
Hiring Range: $18.00 - $22.00, hourly.
