The City of Georgetown’s Economic Development Department is seeking a motivated intern to support a variety of economic development initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, business growth, and community development.This internship offers hands-on experience in local economic development, with a focus on supporting a quarterly entrepreneur and innovation programming initiative. The selected candidate will assist with planning, coordination, and execution of events, including logistics, outreach, and program support.

The Economic Development Intern will gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of the department, including:
Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) visits
Workforce development programs
Business recruitment and prospect engagement
Collaboration with other City departments
This role provides a unique opportunity to learn how municipal government operates and how economic development strategies are implemented at the local level.
Minimum Requirements
Candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or have graduated within the past six (6) months. The ideal candidate is a current college student majoring in economic development, business, public administration, or a related field.
