What part will you play?

  • GAF Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor who will manage the production team and oversee material planning, product scheduling, and production of the next generation of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products
  • You will report to the Manufacturing Production Manager, and you will work cross-functionally to support various types of equipment in Manufacturing. You will join a highly focused team that thrives in a start-up, fast-paced environment
  • This person will be part of the team that is responsible for the manufacturing and delivery of high-quality, high-volume photovoltaic solar technology solutions that are transforming today’s roofs. The Production Supervisor role will focus on the execution and delivery of high-volume manufacturing operations.

What will you do?

  • Instill a culture of safety, quality, and productivity through direct leadership and coordination of the production team.
  • Hire and develop production operators. Provide feedback, training, and evaluation, and take disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Create and maintain production schedules on a daily and weekly basis that maximize production efficiency and meet customer demand.
  • Plan materials needed for production work orders and finished goods shipping to downstream distribution hubs.
  • Organize and plan production resources to meet production targets.
  • Define daily tasks and set the focus for the production team.
  • Collect data and report on production performance indicators and metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues affecting production output in a timely manner. Escalate quickly as necessary.
  • Ensure production processes are carried out in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct reviews of the production processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a safe and clean production environment.
  • Lead or participate in activities pertaining to workflow and process improvement.
  • Develop improvement initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What do we require from you?

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred but is not required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years working in a production supervisor role in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP planning systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with standard manufacturing/Lean concepts and practices.
  • Understanding of basic statistics and use within the operational environment.
  • Good communication skills: written, verbal, and listening.
  • Planning and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to plan the production schedule and ensure all necessary materials and equipment are available to the production team when needed.
  • Ability to quickly assess production issues and establish the best course of action.
  • Ability to spot problems within the manufacturing line quickly and take appropriate action to rectify them.
  • Ensure that the production team is working in the most time-efficient way and with the least downtime possible, to maintain production output while still maintaining staff safety and product quality.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely deliver instructions to the production team.
  • Familiar with using Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience in manufacturing expansions and ramp-ups is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, process-oriented, and excellent time management.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety requirements.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and efficient.
