Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems, and structures throughout the facility. This role ensures a safe, functional, and compliant environment that supports the quality of care provided.
Responsibilities
- Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs machinery, systems, and equipment as scheduled or needed
- Performs utility and structural repairs, alone or in coordination with other staff or contractors
- Inspects and maintains fire safety equipment, including extinguishers, risers, and doors
- Moves materials within the hospital and between storage areas as needed
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities
- Completes department-specific and safety-related education in a timely manner
- Adheres to hospital safety standards and emergency procedures
- Attends and participates in meetings, in-services, and hospital committees
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Requires critical thinking, judgment, and ability to work independently
- Basic knowledge of facility systems, equipment, and tools
- Ability to lift, bend, and move items up to 75 pounds
- May be required to work flexible hours, overtime, and on-call shifts
