Position Overview:

Southwestern University has an immediate opening for a High-Impact Experiences Support Specialist. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. The High-Impact Experiences Support Specialist provides support to Southwestern’s high-impact experiences, working in conjunction with the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director of Study Abroad & International Student Services, the Director of Academic Internships, the Paideia Director, and the Director of Public Engagement. This is a full-time non-exempt position eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide programmatic and budgetary support to each of the staff noted above.
  • Process Business Office paperwork.
  • Coordinate logistics, outreach, and support for HIE-related programs, including:
    • Faculty-Mentored Research (SURF and RAs)
    • HIE Celebration/SUnity Day
    • Research and Creative Works Symposium
    • King Creativity Fund and Symposium
    • Study Abroad Fair
    • Internship Fair
    • Community-Engaged Learning and Public Engagement fairs/events

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with other Academic Affairs events, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience in an administrative support role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Time-management skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Basic understanding of frequently used computer software and programs
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to help manage budgets, with students and faculty

Starting Hourly Wage: $23.38 hr. The final offer for the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience and may exceed the hourly wage.
