Mechanical Engineer III

As a CPI Mechanical Engineer III, you will lead development and design of necessary products.

Chatsworth Products is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer III who leads development of mechanical design solutions used to optimize, store and secure computer, data and communications equipment. Drives all design related activities necessary to deliver both standard and customer products into productions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Demonstrates the ability to lead the development of complex product team, identifying and utilizing best practices and ensuring consistency across teams.
  2. Identifies and drives resolution to complex cross functional issues with minimal coaching.
  3. Recognizes resource imbalances across the engineering team and provides support, as needed.
  4. Anticipates and communicates future engineering tool needs.
  5. Makes design tradeoffs to deliver manufactureable solutions that maximize customer value while ensuring products meets costs, schedule, budget, reliability, thermal, electrical, regulatory and safety requirements.
  6. Anticipates informational needs of Core Team and Management. Clarifies, refines and communicates challenging, yet reasonable expectations. Predicts potential outcomes of actions and provides contingencies to ensure success.
  7. Develops and manages technical program schedules, tracking and reporting progress to Core Team.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications:

  • BSME degree with minimum of eight (8) years of product development experience.
  • Proficient in the use of SolidWorks, CFD and FEA analysis tools to create mechanical designs.
  • Strong background in design, tooling and manufacturing methods.
  • Data Center Thermal Engineering experience a plus.

  • Frequent sitting.
